Therapy balls are a tool you can use at home or in your office to induce healthy movement into your body.  It's a way to add pressure and stretch into your home care routine. The great thing is, that you can use them all over your body, from your neck down to your toes.

Why do I love this particular tool?  Of course, there are all kinds of therapy balls on the market. Yoga balls, regular lacrosse balls, or even fancy tech gadgets too.  The thing I love about the Tune-up therapy balls is they encompass the "soft roll model" method. The balls begin with a soft, squishy texture, and with more pressure they become firm.

Why is this important? Everyone's ability to tolerate pressure is different and in turn, everyone's reactions to tools are different too. Our body has a built-in system that senses stretch, pressure, and movement.  When our nervous system picks up on a level of pressure that might be more than our body can tolerate, the brain ignites a muscle bracing response to prevent the tool from going too deep.

What does that mean? If the pressure is too much, your body will tighten up and actually prevent you from effectively relaxing the area.  Did you know a lacrosse ball is the same hardness as a bowling ball!  Comparatively, the Tune-up Fitness balls, at full pressure, are around the strength of elbow pressure. It's a big difference!

Do you have neck tension? Do you sit at a computer all day?  Are you a new parent, holding, feeding, and gazing at your new bundle of joy?  Try this simple neck roll-out:

Step 1: Begin by laying on your back on a mat. Keep your feet flat on the floor and your knees bent.  Place the toted balls (set of 2) just below the base of your cranium.  Take a deep breath in and out.

Step 2: Slowly roll your neck in a mini-nod action, hinging your cranium over the balls. Take a deep breath in and out.  Repeat 3 times.
