Jessica is a Registered Social Worker who earned her bachelor’s degree from Toronto Metropolitan University and her master’s degree from the University of Toronto, both in social work with a focus on health and mental healthcare.
Before becoming a therapist, Jessica had diverse careers as an actor in film and television, a flight attendant, and an office manager. She is also trained as a Reiki practitioner (though not currently practicing), where she helped clients on their journeys toward healing. Jessica’s creativity has deeply influenced her approach to therapy, allowing her to connect on a more meaningful level with her clients. She is passionate about helping people who feel stuck or isolated and who want to challenge societal norms that might be holding them back.
In her therapeutic practice, Jessica combines several approaches to help clients achieve greater well-being. She uses Narrative Therapy to help clients understand and reshape their personal stories, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) to explore and make sense of emotions, and Strengths-Based Therapy to highlight and build upon what clients are already doing well. She also incorporates Mindfulness-Based Therapy to teach clients how to stay present and aware of their thoughts and emotions, and Self-Compassion-Based Therapy to foster a kinder, more supportive inner dialogue. All of these methods are applied within a psychodynamic context, which considers how past experiences, especially from childhood, might be influencing current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Jessica believes that fully experiencing and expressing emotions can lead to significant improvements in overall well-being. She strives to create a safe, non-judgmental, and accepting environment where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions freely. Her goal is to help clients uncover their inner resilience, strength, and wisdom, leading to greater self-acceptance, ease, and authenticity in both themselves and their relationships.
Jessica specializes in working with clients who struggle with imposter syndrome, low self-esteem, perfectionism, anxiety and depression. She is particularly passionate about helping clients navigate their interpersonal relationships and achieve a better work/life balance.
