Jessica is a Registered Social Worker having achieved her bachelor’s degree in social work with distinction with a minor in psychology from Toronto Metropolitan University.
Jessica is currently completing her master’s degree in social work at the University of Toronto with a focus on health and mental healthcare due in May 2023. Prior to her academic journey to becoming a social worker/therapist, she had careers as an actor for film and television, a flight attendant, and an office manager. She is also a Reiki practitioner (not currently practicing), where she assists clients on their journeys to greater healing. In her current therapeutic practice, she utilizes a combination of narrative, emotion-focused, strengths-based, and mindfulness-based therapies in a psychodynamic context.
Jessica believes that staying present with emotions and allowing them to be fully seen can have immense benefits to one’s overall well-being. She strives to create a therapeutic environment based on collaboration, non-judgment, acceptance, and safety. Jessica is passionate about mindfulness and spirituality, so can integrate this into sessions when appropriate and aligned with a client’s wants. Her goal is to allow her clients to fully and safely explore their thoughts and emotions to further unearth their inherent resiliency, strength, and wisdom.
This approach can allow for more self-acceptance, ease, and authenticity within oneself and relationships. Jessica specializes in anxiety, depression, grief, disordered eating, somatization, spirituality, mindfulness, and the intersection between mental and physical health in relation to acute and chronic pain.
